Sensitif Animal

Sensitif animal traite du sentiment de l’affection. Sa pluralité visuelle reflète la complexité de cette émotion. Il s’agit également de rendre à l’être humain son statut d’animal sensible.
Certaines analyses faites sur le comportement humain par l’éthologue Desmond Morris m’ont interpelées. Inspirée par l’ouvrage La clé des gestes, Animal sensitif est donc une forme de langage visuel traduisant le sentiment humain de l’affection. Le projet porte un intérêt à cette émotion notamment à travers la mise en lumière de sa gestuelle.
Le besoin de traiter ce sujet est sans doute en lien avec la perte récente de mon père.
Ainsi, on retrouve, face à la thématique de l’affection, une forme de projection mais également de manque. Le manque est évoqué par le re-travail de photos d’archive personnelle tandis qu’il est mis en tension avec la projection d’une recherche d’affection, elle-même reflétant une actuelle absence. Cette dernière est représentée par diverses typologies d’images. Un rapport aux mots me semblait également nécessaire afin d’aider à fixer ce flux émotif.

Sensitive Animal
2020

Sensitive Animal deals with the feeling of affection. Its visual plurality reflects the complexity of this emotion. It is also about restoring the human being's status as a sensitive animal.
Some of the analyses of human behaviour by the ethologist Desmond Morris have been very interesting to me. Inspired by the book La clé des gestes, Sensitive Animal is therefore a form of visual language translating the human feeling of affection. The project is focused on this emotion in particular through the highlighting of its gestures.
The need to deal with this subject is undoubtedly related to the recent loss of my father.
Thus, the theme of affection is a form of projection but also a form of lack. The lack is evoked by the reworking of personal archive photos while it is put in tension with the projection of a search for affection, itself reflecting a current absence. The latter is represented by various types of images. A relationship to words also seemed necessary to me in order to help fix this emotional flow.
